The Grand Canyon is a 450 kilometers long canyon in northern Arizona; about 350 kilometers of it are within the National Park. Its width is between 6 and 30 kilometers, and at its deepest point it is about 1,800 meters deep. Simply by its incredible dimensions this giant Canyon belongs to the great natural wonders of the world. It’s an unbelievable feeling to stand on its edge!
Grand Canyon National Park
The Colorado River runs through the Grand Canyon, finding its way from Lake Powell in the north to Lake Mead in the south of the park. The south side of the Canyon (South Rim) is well developed; only a few access roads lead to the north side (North Rim), which on average is about 300 meters higher.
