San Antonio (TX)

San Antonio is the second largest city in Texas after Houston, making it the largest second largest city in a U.S. state (sounds complicated, but after reading it twice it seems quite simple). At the same time, it’s the oldest city in Texas; the Spanish-Mexican influence is evident in many places, especially in the five historic missions. The River Walk, an approximately five-kilometer long promenade along the San Antonio River, provides subtropical vegetation in many places and is lined by cafés, boutiques and restaurants. A walk along the water is highly recommended.
