The international airport in Gander tells a very special story: When American airspace was closed after the attacks on September 11, 2001 in the USA, 38 transatlantic flights were diverted to Gander. Over 6,700 “stranded” passengers and crew members were accommodated and fed for days in a city of less than 10,000 inhabitants.

The SS Ethie, whose wreckage can still be seen in Gros Morne National Park, also has its own story.

Otherwise, Newfoundland is peaceful, close to nature and colorful. The famous adirondacks in all colors, colorful houses and ships, colorful food – even the stones are colorful. And, by the way, weapons are not allowed in national parks! Here are the photos – see yourself.
