The international airport in Gander tells a very special story: When American airspace was closed after the attacks of September 11, 2001, 38 transatlantic flights were re-routed to Gander. More than 6,700 “stranded” passengers and crew members were accomodated and cared for for days in a small town with less than 10,000 people.


Otherwise, Newfoundland is peaceful and colorful. The famous adirondacks painted in all colors, colorful houses and ships, colorful food – even the stones are colorful. And, by the way, it’s not allowed to wear weapons in national parks! Here are the pictures – see yourself:
