Fargo is the largest city in North Dakota; together with its sister city Moorhead in Minnesota, located on the other side of the Red River of the North, it forms the only metropolitan area in the northern state. A special attraction awaits visitors in the Scheels sports shop – in the middle of the store there is a 20 m high Ferris wheel, which once had its place in Disneyland, Anaheim and now serves to entertain shoppers. Each ride costs one dollar – a cheap treat!
Fargo
The city is best known for the film “Fargo“, which was awarded two Oscars in 1996. A wood chipper, being used to crush some bodies, plays an important role in this black crime comedy. The original chipper is on display in the local visitor center.
