Québec is three times the size of France, making it the largest province in Canada. Most people live in the south near the St. Lawrence River – the vast areas of the north are hardly inhabited. Once you leave the urban areas around Montréal and Québec City, the landscape becomes tranquil. Further north the St. Lawrence River gets so wide that you think you are standing at the seaside.
