Dallas is the third largest city in Texas and became famous in Germany mainly through two events: the assassination of the American president John F. Kennedy in 1963 and the television series with the city’s name from the 1980s. The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealy Plaza impressively and precisely records the hours before and after Kennedy’s murder. Southfork Ranch, setting of the television series starring Larry Hagman as J.R. Ewing, is located in nearby Parker and is open to the public.
