They are the number one tourist attraction in Canada – famous Niagara Falls. However, the Canadians have to share the falls with the USA. The biggest part of the larger Horseshoe Falls, 670 meters wide and 57 meters high, belongs to Canada while the smaller American Falls are exclusively on US territory. The border between the Canadian province of Ontario and the US state of New York runs through the Horseshoe Falls. The giant waterfalls are the biggest in North America and offer visitors an incredible spectacle.
The cities on both sides of the falls are called Niagara Falls (not very imaginative) and are connected by the Rainbow Bridge (passport control!). In the Canadian city there are some nice tourist attractions like the Upside-Down House or Hershey’s Chocolate World. If you, as we do, like to drink coffee – the prices in the city are outrageous and a caffé latte can easily cost 10 dollars. But no matter – the Niagara Falls are just incredible…
