Omaha is Nebraska’s largest city calling itself the “Gateway to the West”. The city’s landmark is the imposing Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge over the Missouri River – the border between the two states runs right in the middle of the river.

The city of Council Bluffs in the state of Iowa has two attractions for us: Jonathan Borofsky’s “Molecule Man” (copies of the statue are in Los Angeles and in the middle of the River Spree in Berlin) and an oversized “Golden Spike” commemorating milestone “0” of the transcontinental railroad that once began here.
