The American Jonathan Borofsky is known in particular for his monumental public sculptures. To date, he has created more than 35 works, many of which exist several times in different forms. There is, for example, Molecule Man in the Spree in Berlin, 30 meters high and located exactly where the divided East and West Berlin once met. Two slightly smaller copies of the work can be found in the USA.

From the very beginning, the artist’s entire work symbolizes the union of humanity to build our world. The Hammering Man in Frankfurt is around 21 m high, while his brother in Seoul, Korea, is even one meter taller. There are 12 versions of this sculpture worldwide, which Borofsky has often referred to as “the worker in all of us”. Both the Human Structures series, which connects 136 life-size figures, and the Walking to the Sky series are efforts by the artist to encourage humanity’s understanding of our collective consciousness.
