The name Inges Idee does not refer to a single artist, but rather a group of Berlin artists who have been committed to art in public spaces since 1992. The group consists of four members: Hans Hemmert, Axel Lieber, Thomas A. Schmidt, and Georg Zey.
Their works can be found outside museums and galleries – in squares, parks, on buildings, or in schools – making them freely accessible and part of everyday life. The artworks are designed specifically for a particular location; architecture, landscape, and use of space are directly incorporated into the design.
The meanwhile more than 75 mostly colorful and unusual sculptures stand out refreshingly from the green-gray statues of past eras and inspire lovers of modern art in many countries, whether in Europe, Canada, Japan, or Singapore.
