Sean Henry is best known for his life-size figures. Unlike many traditional sculptors who leave their works in raw material finishes (such as bronze or stone), he paints his works in great detail. This gives his figures a certain liveliness and makes them particularly expressive.
Henry’s works mostly show ordinary people in everyday positions and situations. They can be installed both indoors and outdoors and interact with their surroundings in an interesting way. They often appear isolated, thoughtful or introverted, giving the viewer the impression that they are part of their environment and at the same time separated from it.
