Charlotte (NC)

Charlotte, also known as the “Queen City”, is the largest city in North Carolina and the second most important financial center in the United States after New York City. Bank of America has its headquarters here, and Wells Fargo’s East Coast headquarters is located in the city, too. Charlotte Douglas International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world, giving the city the nickname “International Gateway to the South”. It is also considered the capital of American motorsports; consequently, the NASCAR Hall of Fame is located here.

Charlotte

Charlotte is among the fastest growing cities in the USA; the lively Uptown District is the modern city center with glass skyscrapers, numerous museums and restaurants, making it an exciting destination for both tourists and locals. The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art is the only one in the Southern United States dedicated exclusively to European and American modernism. In front of the museum stands the monumental sculpture “The Firebird” by Niki de Saint Phalle, covered with more than 7,500 mirror mosaics, which has become an iconic landmark of the city.
