Rosalie, whose real name was Gudrun Müller, worked regularly as a stage and costume designer for opera, theater, and ballet; however, she also pursued her career as a visual artist independent of the theater, increasingly focusing on light art in recent years. She achieved international fame in 1994 with her stage design and costumes for Richard Wagner’s “The Ring of the Nibelung”.
Rosalie’s sculptures are characterized by a high degree of creativity, vibrant colors, and emotionality. Flossis – neon-colored little figures climbing up a façade – soon became her trademark. The small, colorful figures with flipper-like hands come in many different colors and shapes, from sitting to lying down to climbing around corners. Equally striking are the sitting and running rabbits she has created.
