Elmgreen & Dragset

Danish artist Michael Elmgreen and Norwegian artist Ingar Dragset have been working together as an artist duo since 1995. They are known for their artworks, which are characterized by wit and subversive humor, while also addressing social and cultural issues. Their works often appear familiar, but upon closer inspection turn out to be staged or absurd.

One of their best-known works is “Prada Marfa,” a seemingly real Prada store in the middle of the Texas desert. The two artists, who have been described more than once as the great troublemakers of the contemporary art scene, work across all media, including sculpture, installation, performance, architecture, and design, often combining them into complex spatial installations.
